Welcome to Julia's Site!

This blog is made available for several reasons. First and foremost, to keep those that know Julia current with what is going on with her and her progress. It is also my intention to educate those who do not know Julia about what happened to her, so they can make educated decisions about their own children. I want to welcome those of you with questions about her disease, treatments, and just the general life (the good and the bad) of living with a brain damaged child. Finally, it is a therapeutic release for me, Julia's mom, Susan. I love writing and need to get some of this stuff out of my head and onto "paper". Thank you!

We took Jack and Julia to the Castle Rock Rec Center swimming area for kids today......and Julia did GREAT!!!!! Last year she had a lot of sensory issues with water and water getting splashed on her face and hair, but this year was a dramatic improvement! She was upset that the slide was closed - but had a great time climbing up the net......with mom's help of course......she liked it much more than mom did, but hey, I did it for her. Jack had fun too, but was too short for the big tube slide...he said, oh well, maybe when I am seven.......Towards the end Julia melted - it was a long loud drive home, but all in all a good trip!

  1. yes, it was a lot of fun, but chaotic! too bad about the slides. maybe next time. mercifully grandma and grandpa took the kids last night so we had a little break between mr biggs and the rec center..a pretty crazy weekend. went to dinner at the morrison inn last night after mr biggs, watched a movie and went to bed early. wow it was very nice! julia is playing right now, very diligently and independently...it's quite a sight!
